Which raises the question:. Another Q: I notice that the iPhone IPV4 settings are not the same as the network that I am trying to establish. This might be a problem? I set up the ethernet with the router as Could this be a problem? In any case seems getting the wired Ethernet working again with or without the internet, then adding the internet sharing, will be the best start. Hi Anannya. Thank you again for your time and help. I was able to get the Win 7 Laptop networked with the Mac OS X desktop via ethernet cable so that the two of them see each other and can exchange files.
First step accomplished. Both Machines can also go to the Router administration and make and save changes. The step that I am still having trouble with is the internet connection sharing. I think that the articles are straight forward for a normal situation but not this situation. That is to say iPhone to win 7 hotspot gets internet no problem, and the mac connected via ethernet cable to router was getting internet from win 7.
I know that it is possible. What I do not know is how to tweak the settings to not lose the progress that I have made for ethernet connectivity. DHCP Server: Unidentified Network: No internet sharing enabled. In Networking: In the Wireless connection display from the taskbar the router shows up as available but when I try to connect I get an error - ultimately communication problem with router. Any help in understanding and creating a fix for this would be appreciated as it seems that this is a communication error. If it's already running the latest version, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the driver or rolling the driver back to a previous version.
It might seem impossible to check the internet for outdated network drivers when the network can't reach the internet. This change can work around the technical limitations of the adapter by changing the speed and timing at which it operates. Some users have reported having more success with the Half Duplex option, but note that this setting lowers the maximum total data rate that the device can support.
Remove and reinsert the adapter hardware to verify that it's connected properly. If that doesn't help, try replacing the adapter, if possible. If none of the above procedures fix the "A network cable is unplugged " error, it's possible that the device on the other end of the Ethernet connection, such as a broadband router , is the one malfunctioning. Troubleshoot these devices as needed. Share Pin Email.

Nice effort, very informative, this will help me to complete my task.
Tried on two different, brand spanking new and 'virgin' Win7 x64 Enterprise, with files extracted from 64bit iTunes 10 and iOS 4. Install iTunes - works fine. Uninstall iTunes, stops working. Rebooting and such does not change result. Anyone else? I cannot get this fix to work with the iphone 4 iOS 4.
